South Miami Weed & Seed Celebrating Safe Communities Carnival

South Miami Weed & Seed in partnership with the University of Miami will be hosting a community carnival in celebration of safe communities.

The event will take place at the South Miami Community Center’s Murray Park on Saturday, October 2, 2010 from 12pm-4pm. South Miami residents, as well as the neighboring cities of Coral Gables, Coconut Grove, Perrine, Kendall, and Richmond Heights will be notified of events through local newspapers, the City of South Miami website, and cable programming on the local government channel.

At the event we will provide information on establishing neighborhood Block Groups and building communication among residents and reinforcing positive interactions with our Police Department. The South Miami Police Department will be exhibiting and demonstrating their services, specificially our Community Patrol Unit. Food vendors, raffle prizes and giveaways will be conducted throughout the evening.

Partners in this event will include the South Miami Parks & Recreation Department, the South Miami Police Department, the University of Miami, and many others.
